The products used today for communications intercept typically fall into one of two domains: they are either in the network (wired, cellular, satellite, WiFi, broadband data, etc.) intercepting traffic or at the law enforcement monitoring center analyzing traffic. Products deployed in the network need to support a wide range of protocols, applications and communication methods to properly identify and acquire traffic of interest. Products deployed at the monitoring center are used for accumulating and reconstructing the intercepted traffic.
As part of its’ end-to-end solution set, SS8 provides products that serve both the Network Interception domain and the Investigative Analysis domain. Network Interception:All network intercept activity is managed and controlled by The SS8 Xcipio® product. Xcipio secures all intercept activity working with both passive and active intercept approaches. In the active approach Xcipio works directly with existing network elements to facilitate intercepts. For passive intercept, The SS8 AXS-2500™ passive probe is deployed directly in the network and acquires traffic “off the wire” without affecting network performance or functionality. |
Investigative Analysis:Analysis of today’s IP based networks requires accurate reconstruction of those IP packet streams. FoxReplay Analyst was designed specifically to recreate for law enforcement exactly what the target saw, including emails, chat sessions, flash media and other web 2.0 features. Interfacing directly with Xcipio, FoxReplay Analyst generates meta-data from the incoming traffic, stores it for future use and provides a browser based viewer to analyze the sessions. |
